Turns out the SG001 replica looks fantastic. I thought it would be some cheap looking two toned plastic deal. Nope. If I didn’t know any better I’d think it was an actual phone. Damn. If only I could justify buying the exclusive game pack it came with which I wouldn’t be able to play nor understand even if I could.

I’m impressed by the intricacy of these but still hope they’re over sized pre-production models. Unless my impression from the game is way off they sure as hell aren’t the right size next to Chell. (edit: looks like I was wrong about that but I maintain my opinion that they’d look better a bit smaller)

Also, I didn’t get to confirm that those eyes light up. They look like they should and considering the portal gun does I don’t see why not. But it could go either way. No word on price either. I was just passing though the booth and didn’t grab anyone to interrogate.

A nice 1/12 scale R2D2 has been on my “list of toys that need to be made” for a long time, and it’s finally going to happen. I can’t wait. I don’t have high hopes for the line as a whole but I look forward to seeing what else gets made. Damn them for only showing pics of Luke so far.
